About Bill Baber

Bill and Helen Baber have been designing  sweaters since 27 May 1977. Although the business is called Bill Baber, Helen is the principle fashion designer and Bill does the more technical side. Their store  in Edinburgh  is called Bill Baber and is a salesroom and design studio. They work there through the day on new designs and colourways as well as helping customers in the shop front. In the studios behind the shop is the knitting and linking equipment for  sampling,  and the yarn stocks :  linen, merino, silk, and cotton, all natural fibres. This is the  design studio where they do the  fabric grading, finishing and linking. In other words they have everything a design  outfit needs to keep turning out new work.
